Tablet and PC must be on the same local network<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Same Wi-Fi, same router, same subnet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Example of a correct setup:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tablet: <code>192.168.1.42<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PC: <code>192.168.1.10<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your IPs live in different families (10.x.x.x vs 192.168.x.x, or 192.168.0.x vs 192.168.1.x), they are simply not on the same LAN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. TouchOSC Bridge must be running on the computer<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If Bridge is closed, TouchOSC has nowhere to send MIDI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Open Bridge first \u2192 then open TouchOSC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Your router must allow local traffic<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is where most connection problems happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many ISP routers (Freebox, Livebox, Vodafone, Spectrum\u2026) are designed for internet, not local protocols like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>UDP packets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>broadcast<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>multicast<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>peer-to-peer routing inside LAN<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So they often:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>block UDP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>block multicast<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>isolate Wi-Fi clients<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>route packets externally instead of locally<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>drop Bridge packets entirely<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This breaks TouchOSC \u2192 Bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution: Use a dedicated local router<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deploying a standard, dedicated local router resolves the majority of these UDP\/Multicast drops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> An active internet connection is not required; only a clean local area network (LAN) is necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Check if TouchOSC is actually sending signal (Protokol)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Use <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/hexler.net\/protokol\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Protokol<\/a><\/strong> (free from Hexler):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open Protokol on your PC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tap buttons on TouchOSC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you see MIDI events \u2192 TouchOSC \u2192 Bridge is working<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you see nothing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>wrong Wi-Fi<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>wrong subnet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ISP router blocking traffic<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bridge not running<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>another network interface stealing priority<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before touching MA2, fix the TouchOSC \u2192 Bridge link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For pictures of the full setup process (TouchOSC \u2192 Bridge \u2192 MA2), check the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mugenlighting.com\/studio\/touchosc-layout-for-grandma2-by-max-mugen\/setup-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Setup Guide<\/a><\/strong> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"commands-not-responding\">1.2 Commands not responding in MA (Bridge \u2192 MA2)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If TouchOSC \u2192 Bridge works but MA2 does nothing, the problem is now between Bridge \u2192 MA2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Check that MA2 is using the correct MIDI input<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Go to : Yellow Ball \u2192 Options \u2192 MIDI Tab \u2192 \u201cMIDI In Device\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ensure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the correct device is selected<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>nothing else is using the port<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then : Setup \u2192 Remote Inputs \u2192 MIDI Remotes \u2192 Press the \u201ci\u201d icon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tap on a TouchOSC button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you see data \u2192 MIDI is arriving but not mapped correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you see nothing \u2192 MA2 is not listening to Bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MIDI ports can only be opened by ONE program<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the most common configuration oversight in MA2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If <em>any<\/em> of these are open:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a DAW (Ableton, Logic, Cubase\u2026)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a visualizer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MIDI-OX, MIDI Monitor, Protokol or any monitor tool<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>another TouchOSC instance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>another MIDI utility<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026 the port is locked by the operating system, and MA2 will receive zero input.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Close everything except:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MA2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TouchOSC Bridge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">(Keep Protokol only during testing; close it afterwards.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advanced setups with virtual ports work, but only if you know exactly what you\u2019re doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Confirm MIDI Remotes are imported correctly<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If MA2 is receiving MIDI but nothing reacts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Remote table not imported<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>XML overwritten incorrectly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>missing plugin installation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>wrong index numbers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>wrong MIDI channel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Special Masters not assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For pictures of the full setup process (TouchOSC \u2192 Bridge \u2192 MA2), check the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mugenlighting.com\/studio\/touchosc-layout-for-grandma2-by-max-mugen\/setup-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Setup Guide<\/a><\/strong> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"midi-remotes-erased\">1.3 My MIDI Remotes were erased<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MA2 overwrites the entire MIDI Remote table every time you import an XML file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no merge function inside MA2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you need additional remotes on top of this layout, you technically have two options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Merge the XML files manually with a text editor (copy or paste remote entries without breaking the index numbers).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Re-create your custom remote lines manually in MA2 after installing the layout.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep in mind: this layout already uses almost all MIDI Remote slots. There are only 17 entries left, so merging is rarely worth it unless you really need those extra triggers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a clean solution, the most robust method is to add your custom MIDI Remotes directly inside the plugin before installing. That keeps everything in one place and avoids conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"plugin-special-master-issues\">1.4 Plugin \/ Special Master issues<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make sure you run MA2 version 3.8 or higher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If needed, go to Executor Page 101 and manually re-run the assignment macro or the LUA plugin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To see what the plugin actually did, check the Command Line feedback and the System Monitor window.
