TouchOSC Layout for GrandMA2 – Contributors

I initiated this project expecting to build a straightforward personal utility. However, engineering a bidirectional bridge between TouchOSC and GrandMA2 quickly escalated into a massive architectural challenge.

Over the past year, I immersed myself in deep LUA scripting, OSC network logic, and the intricacies of the GrandMA2 macro engine. Building an interface with nearly 9,500 objects, 1,000+ MIDI remotes, and hundreds of custom scripts pushed this build far beyond its original scope. Delivering a robust, tour-ready solution required a massive amount of testing, debugging, and iteration.

This project took shape thanks to the incredible support of some truly awesome people.

MA Lighting

  • Marco Kampf : Thank you for sharing your work and inspiring me to start this project.
  • Giaffo Designs : Thank you for being an amazing programmer and generously sharing your knowledge. Your input helped me explore LUA in MA as a full language.
  • Benoît Baillard : Thank you for sharing your deep MA knowledge and offering insights on macro syntax and LUA, answering many questions.
  • Greg Akwariom, Adrien Serrentino & the MA community : Thank you for your support with MA commands, syntax, and guidance throughout.

TouchOSC

  • Hexler : For giving us the keys to this incredible software playground.
  • Ian Nault : Always there with invaluable support, insight, and deep tech dives into TouchOSC’s inner workings.
  • Deepsounds : Smart code solutions, boundary-pushing ideas, and the brilliant Colorpicker module. Also, thanks for the support and for answering many of my questions.
  • Nico Fradet : For elevating the layout with advanced scripting and optimizing the logic of key modules.
  • Tim Corpus : For amazing tutorials and tips on layout creation and troubleshooting in TOSC.
  • MouseSF : Huge thanks for the Keyboard module. A key piece of the puzzle.
  • Ken Mitchell, Felix Felmar, Bryan Day, Hugo Kant, RaHulk Midi, Jörn Lengwening & the TOSC community : Your scripts, tips, and tricks made it all click.
  • Adrian Freed & Jeff Harris : Your expertise on OSC and MIDI protocols helped expand our technical foundations.

Users

  • Gayo : His rigorous beta testing and real-world production insights were invaluable in refining the final feature set.
  • The early adopters : The first brave souls who tested the layout and shared their feedback, helping improve and shape it.

A sincere thank you to every one of you. Your technical wisdom and enthusiasm have been incredible. This architecture would not exist in its current state without your input.

Feedback

I am continuously refining this architecture. Field data from active lighting programmers plays a critical role in future development updates.

What you can share :

  • Feature Requests: Share your thoughts on UI/UX improvements or new network integrations you need for your upcoming shows.
  • Bug Reports: Encountered a technical routing issue? Please provide detailed reproduction steps and system screenshots so I can patch it in the next build.
  • Production Showcases: Has this layout accelerated your workflow? Send photos of your Front of House setup in action.

Your input drives the rapid evolution of these tools. If this layout has leveled up your workflow, sharing it with other programmers helps expand the ecosystem.
