Artboard Manager Pro Suite for Adobe Illustrator – Setup Guide

Installation

This suite runs natively inside Adobe Illustrator. No external apps or installers are required.

1. Download & Unzip: Extract the downloaded file. You will see a folder named “MaxMugen Tools”.
2. Locate Script Folder: Navigate to your Illustrator directory:
   • Windows: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator [Year]\Presets\en_US\Scripts\
   • macOS: /Applications/Adobe Illustrator [Year]/Presets/en_US/Scripts/
3. Copy & Paste: Drop the entire “MaxMugen Tools” folder into that Scripts directory.
4. Restart: Restart Adobe Illustrator.
5. Launch: Go to File > Scripts > MaxMugen Tools > Artboard Manager Pro Launcher.

Creating a Keyboard Shortcut

Illustrator doesn’t allow direct hotkeys for scripts, but you can create an Action to launch the suite with one button.

1. Open the Actions Panel (Window > Actions).
2. Click the Create New Action button (+). Name it “Open Launcher” and choose a Function Key (e.g., F5).
3. Click Record.
4. Click the Hamburger Menu (≡) at the top-right of the Actions Panel.
5. Select “Insert Menu Item…” from the dropdown.
6. A dialog box will appear. Leave it open.
7. With the dialog box still open, go to the Illustrator menu: File > Scripts > MaxMugen Tools > Artboard Manager Pro Launcher.
8. The dialog box text should update to match the script name. Click OK.
9. The Launcher window will open. Close it.
10. Click the Stop Playing/Recording button (square icon) in the Actions Panel.

Now, pressing your chosen F-key will launch the suite instantly.

Settings & Data Locations

The suite features a robust file system that saves your preferences, window positions, and custom presets automatically.

• Presets: Saved as JSON files. You can back these up or share them with your team.
• Logs: If a tool behaves unexpectedly, it generates a log file here.
• File Access:
  • Windows: %APPDATA%/MaxMugenPlugins/
  • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/MaxMugenPlugins/

Troubleshooting

“Script Not Found” Error

The Launcher relies on the file structure. Ensure you did not rename the .jsx files or move them out of the “MaxMugen Tools” folder.
